Carnival in Düsseldorf “Düsseldorf – as hot as mustard” – that’s the slogan under which Carnival revellers in the Rhine metropolis will be celebrating the climax of the “fifth season”. The Carnival “fools” (Jecken) will truly be in their element all the way up to Ash Wednesday on 10 February, laughing, dancing and giving friendly kisses to all and sundry. One million spectators will be there when the Rose Monday Parade winds its way through the streets of Düsseldorf. It is one of the biggest in Germany and, because of its cheeky themed floats that address current political issues, it is well known internationally.  Duesseldorf Photo Weekend 2016 For what will already be the fifth time, more than 40 galleries, museums and cultural institutions will be staging exhibitions and events on the subject of photography from 12 to 14 February.
