В Германии и Франкфурте вот-вот стартует карнавальный сезон. Dear Sir or Madam,The carnival season is about to kick off in Germany and Frankfurt will of course be celebrating the so-called “fifth season of the year” as well. Our tip: Hausmann Hall – the city’s official carnival headquarters and “party central” for the 2017 shrovetide season – will be hosting countless rambunctions theme parties between the 09th and 28th of February. The action will include DJs, live music and the usual blend of singing, dancing and merry-making.

Irrespective of all the carnival fanfare, we naturally also have plenty of new event locations, hotels and incentive ideas to tell you about for Frankfurt and the Rhine-Main region.

We wish you a happy carnival season!

This special guided tour, which covers some of the formerly more dangerous parts of the region, concludes with a hike to a rustic forest tavern. Suddenly, a shot rings out, followed by screams and shouts. From out of nowhere, a group of bandits falls upon the touring party. The ambush is however a friendly one, as tour participants find out on the way to the highwaymen’s camp. After a short interrogation by the head of the gang, a mild verdict is handed down: All shall live to see another day! A short theatrical play follows, based on the famous local robber story, “Das Wirtshaus im Spessart”. Afterwards, guests are invited to enjoy a schnaps and a glass of apple wine. Additional programme events, such as a ride in a horse-drawn carriage or a lunch break featuring a hearty snack, may be booked upon special request.Adventure tours at the Faust Brewery in MiltenbergBrauerei Faust © Brauerei FaustFaust beer is a popular favourite in its home region. The tour of the brewhouse, the fermentation cellars and Faust’s so-called “treasure trove” reveals all of the brewery’s secrets. Sample the many varieties on offer, drop into the brewery shop for a browse and enjoy the many scenic sides of Miltenberg, a mediaeval town looking back on over 3,500 years of moving history.News+ServicesFrankfurt Wine QueenFrankfurter Weinkoenigin © Tourismus+Congress GmbH Frankfurt am Main Foto_Holger UllmannFrankfurt is one of only a few major German cities to possess its own local vineyard. Technically speaking, the 1.3-hectare area – known as “Lohrberger Hang” – is actually part of the Rheingau, a nearby winegrowing region famous around the world for its fine Rieslings. Established over 200 years ago, Frankfurt’s municipal winery produces approximately 10,000 bottles of Riesling – known as “Frankfurter Lohrberger Hang” – from each year’s harvest. The wine is so popular that it has become one of the unofficial symbols of the city. Aside from having its own vineyard and municipal winery, Frankfurt now also has its own wine queen, Marilen Maul. Officially crowned on 23rd January 2017, Marilen I will be representing Frankfurt and Frankfurt wine at countless fairs and festivals throughout the year, including the IMEX Frankfurt, the worldwide exhibition for incentive travel, meetings and events. Last but not least, as of this spring, the new “Coronation Wine” will be available for tasting, created especially to commemorate the crowning of the new queen.Special Events
