Liverpool’s reputation as a leading destination for groups just keeps on growing.
In 2017 Liverpool will host 67-17: 50 Summers of Love; a season of events and performances inspired by the golden anniversary of the Summer of Love between May and August 2017.
1967 saw some of the biggest cultural shifts of a generation and the moment the avant-garde forced its way into the mainstream. Liverpool played a big part, it being the year Sgt Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band was released, The Mersey Sound poetry anthology was published, the Metropolitan Cathedral was opened and homosexuality was decriminalised in the UK.
Other group friendly events will include Armed Forces Day and Mersey River Festival (both 23 - 25 June), Liverpool International Music Festival (21 - 23 July) and One Magical City – Liverpool’s Christmas themed extravaganza.
Meanwhile, Mersey Ferries has teamed up with Liverpool Cathedral and City Explorer to offer a fabulous ‘hop on hop off’ open top bus tour across the city. Group rates are available.
Liverpool is home to no less than seven National Museums – from the majestic Lady Lever Art Gallery at Port Sunlight to the world renowned Walker Art Gallery in Liverpool city centre.
