It was 50 years ago today… recording sessions for Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band took place and in celebration of the album’s release, The Beatles Story, Liverpool has unveiled exciting new memorabilia.
Topping the bill is a full set of authentic Sgt. Pepper’s suits made by Noel Howard, one of the team who designed the original suits which adorned the album cover.
The originals, held by the individual estates, have never all been on show together since, making this the only set available for public viewing.
The replicas were made using the exact measurements and materials as the originals and files charting this are on show alongside the suits. Also unveiled at The Beatles Story is an alternative print of the iconic album cover.
These items are the first in a series of major memorabilia additions planned by The Beatles Story to mark the 50th anniversary of Sgt Pepper’s.
